Red Dragon Youth Kung Fu

In this training we start building each child with fundamentals such as ( reflex training, balance, coordination ,footwork maneuvering, striking and covering attacks). These are attributes all martial artist need at any level of their training. At class we will be doing lots of development drills and exercises. The drills and exercises will vary as they progress. Our design is not just to teach form after form and have the child learn sequences is not is to build a skill and attribute trough our training program. For example striking, if the child does not know proper body alignment and understanding of rooting the floor the kick will not be effective in a situation that needed to be executed and could fall and hurt himself. The child will be drilling exercises and techniques where it becomes a natural response and will react in a natural and harmonious way.

This program comes from Wing Chun, Southern Praying Mantis and Eskrima (Filipino martial arts). This program is designed for the child to get the essence of each martial art. This training curriculum will make the way for them to learn a more detailed and formal curriculum of Wing Chun Kung Fu, Southern Praying Mantis and/or Eskrima.

In this program we will be teaching self defense, focus, confidence, awareness , anti- bullying scenarios and more. We are developing the child's overall well being in his early youth.

This School is a result of dedicated martial artist who have been studying and teaching martial arts for their most part of their lives. The martial arts that they teach are fighting Arts. However they have designed this curriculum for the kids where they are using the practical application and put it for the kids where they could defend themselves if needed. Also Martial arts has much more to offer than just the fighting aspect. In this curriculum we are building the children in all their attributes and have designed it for the kids making the classes fun and dynamic.

The instructors are highly qualified martial artists and have the vision of teaching and motivating the youth of Houston Texas in this style of martial arts. The teachers are prepared and have a formal curriculum where we are all teaching in a synchronize way and with the same objective in every class.

We are very aware of the child's safety and have taken our safety measures to avoid the children from injury or accidents in class.

Through our exercise and drills of our program we focus in building the child's confidence levels and create awareness of situations that could happen in school. Violence doesn't have to be the result of a situation where the child is getting confronted by a bully. That would be the last resource. We want for the child to have confidence in himself and avoid these situations by believing in himself enough to stop the situation with out having to get into the fight. We are building healthy self esteem.

This program was created by a team of martial artist that see all the benefits that martial arts has to offer besides the fighting aspect. They have gotten together with the objective of bringing this benefit to the youth of Houston Texas. This program is the result of many years of training and teaching martial arts. They have tailored made this program for a child to apply all the attributes a martial artist has and be able to use these skills in their daily lives.

We have no contracts at the Red Dragon Youth Kung Fu School.

We offer a FREE Trial Class for your child. We want you, the parent, to come by the school with your child and evaluate our Kung Fu School. Once you and the child decide they are ready to join, he/she will need the school uniform and safety training equipment to join the class.

We understand that Tae Kwon Do is a very popular sport where many children get a chance to compete and perform. We will be giving the child a chance to compete as well, but at Red Dragon Youth Kung Fu school we are focusing on developing the child's attributes and inner well being. Being able to defend yourself in a real situation will only work if you believe and have confidence in yourself.
